Mark Terrelonge, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of neurology and neuromuscular medicine at UCSF. His interests in neuromuscular diseases include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). One of his aspirations is to bring high-level neurologic care to underserved populations, focusing closely on populations that have difficulty with access to care. He leads the San Francisco General Hospital Neuromuscular Clinic. Additionally, he has been providing care to patients with ALS in the Fresno region through telehealth multidisciplinary clinics -- a practice he hopes to bridge with in-person visits at local Fresno clinic sites post-pandemic. Additionally, he is working on building a telehealth ALS clinic in Hawaii to bring multidisciplinary resources to that underserved region. In the future, he hopes to expand the reach of teleneurology throughout greater California to decentralize neurologic care from cities into more rural areas.
