Mind over risk: A pilot trial of a mindfulness based stress reduction intervention to reduce cerebrovascular risk in people with HIV

This is an interventional pilot trial evaluating the impact of a mindfulness based stress reduction intervention on markers of cardio- and cerebrovascular risk in persons living with HIV. We are collaborating with Dr. Rick Hecht and colleagues at the UCSF Osher Center to deliver mindfulness training for this randomized trial. All participants, regardless of randomization allocation, will have access to courses in mindfulness based stress reduction at some point during the trial. Located in San Francisco, this study involves psychological stress assessments, arterial PET imaging, and brain vessel wall imaging.
