Raquel Gardner, MD, is an associate professor of neurology and a faculty member in the UCSF/SFVA Center for Population Brain Health and Global Brain Health Institute. Her clinical research program is focused on traumatic brain injury (TBI) and neurodegenerative disease and includes prospective cohort studies at San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF Memory and Aging Center, and the San Franciso VA. She directs a VA advanced fellowship program in TBI and aging research. She is a Transforming Research And Clinical Knowledge in TBI (TRACK-TBI) investigator and is a member of the International Initiative for TBI Research (InTBIR) Executive Committee. She is spending the 2021-2022 academic year on a research sabbatical as a visiting scientist at Sheba Medical Center in Israel where she is collaborating with local scientists on projects relating to TBI, neurodegeneration, and other acquired brain injuries.
