Priya Dhawan, MD, is an associate professor of neurology and neuromuscular subspecialist with interests in peripheral nerve, muscle, and autonomic disease, including neurological manifestations of primary systemic and hereditary amyloidosis. Dr. Dhawan began work in global health in her prior position at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she developed a new relationship between the UBC Department of Neurology and the University of Rwanda with a focus on neurological education. Dr. Dhawan aims to continue her work in Rwanda with UCSF through education, clinical care, resident mentoring, and clinical research. Dr. Dhawan has interests in developing free neurology clinics to facilitate assessments for uninsured patients and increase access for rural neurology care.
