Jeffrey Gelfand, MD, is an associate professor of clinical neurology at UCSF. He specializes in caring for patients with a wide range of neuroinflammatory disorders. Dr. Gelfand conducts clinical research and is an award-winning medical educator. Dr. Gelfand directs the UCSF MS/Neuroimmunology Fellowship training program and serves as assistant medical director of the MS and Neuroinflammation Clinic. He established an MS/Neuroimmunology Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital and attends and teaches on the San Francisco General Hospital inpatient neurology service. He is a Coach medical educator in the UCSF Medical School Bridges curriculum. Dr. Gelfand was inducted into the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators (2020). He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and serves as the elected chair of the American Academy of Neurology Autoimmune Neurology Section. He is committed to expanding neurology education globally and advancing care and health equity locally and globally.
