Jessamy Conell-Price, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the UCSF Division of General Neurology and at San Francisco General Hospital. She is one of the core clinician-educators at the San Francisco General Hospital Neurology Clinic.
Dr. Conell-Price started her career as a researcher focusing on chronic pain and geriatrics; where she worked to develop thoughtful evidence-based healthcare for vulnerable populations including patients with chronic pelvic pain, diverse elders in nursing homes, and incarcerated elders. She completed medical school and her masters through the UCSF/UCB Joint Medical Program which aims to advance health equity by educating physicians who practice at the intersection of medicine, public health, and community health.
As a physician, Dr. Conell-Price is focused on improving clinical knowledge and education for neurologic disease, with a particular focus on neurologic diseases that occur in the setting of complex illness, neurologic-rheumatologic overlap, and neurologic and psychiatric comorbidities. She works from a person-first and community-centered approach.
As a clinician-educator, Dr. Conell-Price is working to renew attention to the field of general neurology with a goal of building an outpatient neurology ecosystem that is patient-centered, comprehensive, accessible, and caring. She aims to expand education, policy, public health advocacy to improve workforce development, training, and equitable access to outpatient neurologic care.
Dr. Conell-Price is currently working on building neurologic support for the first long-COVID clinic at ZSFG and exploring ways to improve neurologic care for San Franciscans who are unhoused and marginally housed.
